THE PILOT:
Ian Cox, a Steamboat resident for 28 years, passed his FAA Flight Exam in 1982. Ian is a balloon pilot instructor. He has logged over 3,500 flights. He will be your in-flight tour guide, and your safety will be his number one priority.

THE BALLOON:
The Wild West Balloon, affectionately named "VELVET" has a large spacious basket that is partitioned for safety and has custom red leather trim. It is equipped with three burners and an "aeroshute" rapid braking system. It has turning vents for panoramic views, air to ground radio contact, and G.P.S.

FLIGHT RATES
PRICES PER PERSON: ADULTS CHILDREN (6-12) SENIORS (65+)
45 minute flights $200 $125 $185

Times:

  • Flights always operate in the morning.

Information:

  • Wear warm, comfortable boots or shoes and layered clothing.
  • Limited restroom facilities at the launch site.
  • Temperatures are normally warmer in the balloon.

Note:

  • Flights are weather permitting.
  • Bring cash, credit card, or check to the launch site.
  • 24 hour prior cancellation appreciated.
  • Cancellation after 6pm the evening prior and the morning of the flight incurs full per person charge.
